Greetings from Guatemala. Lori and I are so blessed this week to be serving along with 22 amazing young people on fire for Jesus. In addition to the new interns, there are 6 returning interns and many national and missionary staff. But the best part of serving this week in Antingua is the joy of doing it right along side two of our kids.
Austin oversees the Ignite interns program and Grayson is one of the newest group of interns. Seeing their heart to serve the Lord in this capacity is so exciting. The love they have for the children and the excitement to follow after Christ with all their heart makes a mom and dad grateful and thankful.
This week we have spent time touring a hospital, helping with some English lessons alongside interns in the local school, and yesterday was Kid’s Club. In addition Lori and I have had the pleasure of sitting in on some of the classes for the interns taugh by Pastor Don McClure. What a great man of God he is. His teaching is solid and the young people are so engaged by his many stories. (as were we)
We experienced a volcano going off for about 24 hours a couple of days ago. That was a new experience for us. We were able to meet a man walking down the street, and between his limited English and our limited Spanish, we were able to find out he is a landscaper who is in love with Jesus, so we invited him to church.
Another highlight was getting to know some new friends from Boston Calvary Chapel. They are here serving a short term trip this week and it has been such a great time spending time getting to know so many of them.
God has been speaking to our hearts in a mighty way this week. We are still praying for wisdom and clear direction and will make some decisions when we return, but with that said, we believe he has really placed on our hearts the path we are to pursue.
God is good, and getting to seek him in this beautiful place is so cool. Please continue praying for us to have opportunities to speak into the lives of these young people and to share the Gospel when we walk in the city.
