Col 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

We live in a time, as did the Apostle Paul, where deception and human philosophy prevails. Unfortunately it is currently infiltrating the church. We see the church using worldly methods to reach the lost and draw people to something other than the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Paul gives us a warning to not be captive to these things. To test the spirit’s and make sure they are from Christ.

When we see leaders encouraging their flock in the things of the world we should be alarmed. We need to be so solid in our walk of faith that we are able to discern whose voice is being spoken. The voice of a man or the voice of the Lord.

Today I’m reminded to stay so close to Christ that the only voice I hear is His.

Who’s voice are you listening to today? Be careful to discern the voice of the Lord from the counterfeit voices…
