Daily Bible Verse ~ 1 Peter 1:6-7

1 Peter 1:6-7 this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Rejoicing in the midst of suffering is often not an immediate response, it comes from being grounded in the Word and rooted in Jesus Christ. In these verses, Peter tells us not only to rejoice, but that our trials are for a purpose. It may be challenging to understand, but how we deal with our trials is a genuine barometer of our faith.

When we endure the hardships in our suffering through the power of Christ, our faith is purified and tested as gold in the purifying fire. Suffering because of our relationship with Christ tests the genuineness of our faith and the certainty of our salvation which results in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Every instance of faith that has stood the test of the fire shall ultimately be rewarded at the return of our Lord.

As you ponder and pray over today’s verse I encourage you to seek the Lord in your trials and ask Him to fill your heart with joy.
