1Co 15:57-58 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (58) Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
Today’s verse encourages me in so many ways. Last week a friend of mine shared it with me shortly after someone shared it with him. God’s word is always so timely at our most needed moments.
Our victories, no matter how grand or small, all come through our Savior Jesus. Often I spend too much time trying to figure things out to make them work that I miss what the Lord is doing in and through the situation. I call it the paralysis of analysis. And then when I’ve strived long enough, in desperation, I finally turn it over to Jesus.
When we are steadfast, immovable, and abounding in His work, we don’t have to worry about the outcome. Sure, it may not look how we thought or get completed in the timing we set up in our plan, but it will always be for our good and His glory. And that’s reason enough to always give thanks.
Lord, guide me in your good work to a place where I am not shaken or moved by outside influence. Please strengthen me and give me wisdom. Thank you for always being my anchor when difficulty comes my way. You are awesome Lord and I pray my life brings you glory. Amen.
