Ecc 11:4 He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap. (kjv)
Often in life, one can become too cautious. We may have a direction we want to go with our career or move into a ministry that the Lord has called us to, and we wait until the conditions are perfect before we make a move in that direction. Solomon shares in this verse that if we wait for the perfect time in life, we wont sow the seeds and we wont reap a harvest.
I have a phrase I learned many years ago that I use when I am in this very place. If I sense the Lord leading me into something and I have delayed it due to my desire to have the perfect plan, I call it the paralysis of analysis. I go in every direction trying to create every scenario in my mind, in my journaling and prayers, and in my planning process that I can miss the prompt to simply get moving.
It’s like the marksman who aims, and aims, and aims… and then aims some more. Eventually you need to pull the trigger! If you never pull the trigger you’ll never hit the target. And the nice thing about pulling the trigger is, even if you are off a little bit, you can aim and fire again.
Are you in the paralysis of analysis stage in something the Lord is asking you to do? Do you have your eye on the target but are afraid to pull the trigger? If so, I encourage you today to pull the trigger and see if you are even close to the target. You will probably be quite surprised how close you are to the bulls-eye!
Be Blessed!
