Eph 3:8-12 To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, (9) and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things, (10) so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. (11) This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, (12) in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him.
One of the challenges with reading the book of Ephesians is the massive weightiness of the verses. As a whole, we see the plan of salvation laid out for not only the Jews, but the Gentiles as well. The Gentile world has become heirs through Christ, which as we see from verse 11, is something that was planned not as an afterthought, but from eternity past.
The plan of salvation was always a plan for all men to be reconciled to God through faith in Jesus Christ. As the body of Christ, the church, we are to be a display of His manifold wisdom. Though He created all things to display His glory, it was still not enough to display his divine redemption. Therefore, through the church he illustrates His work of redemption.
Those whom he predestined to adoption (Eph 1:5) to become children of God not only display His manifold wisdom, but we have our names written in Heaven. This confidence should empower us with boldness to come to the Father in faith. We have the confidence to call upon the name of the Lord as son’s and daughter’s of the most high. Jesus tells us in John 14 that we are to ask for anything in His name and it will be granted to you.
As children of God seeking His will, we are able to boldly enter into the throne of grace. Whether we are in need of healing, encouragement, strength to carry on, or we are simply wanting to adore and praise the Lord, we can do that with the utmost confidence that He hears our prayers and will answer according to His good purpose.
Today I am thankful for the power of God working through his church for the salvation of men, and especially that I am privileged to be a chosen part of that work.
Be Blessed!
