Eph 5:21 submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.
The New Year has come and it was quite an event. This year we were blessed to spend time with great friends and family, eating great food, playing games, and sharing stories about what the Lord is doing in our lives. It was a night of laughter and joy in the Lord.
As the ball dropped in New York, we texted family members and friends not with us, blew our noise makers, and shared a hug with one another. About 5 minutes into 2016 I made a discovery, Lori and I had not had anything to argue about for the entire year. There was no getting upset for this thing or that, no long discussion about unmet expectations, no quarrelling about who’s right and who’s wrong, it was simply a group of 8 friends hanging out ringing in the new year.
So I decided right there my new years resolution was going to be that I was going to do everything I can to not argue with my wife in 2016… and so far I’ve been 100% successful. (Well, it’s only been 2 hours)
As I read this verse in Ephesians I’m encouraged to live differently. Not looking out simply for me and my desires, but to submit to Lori as she submits to me, both looking to Christ for our purpose and strength.
What better way to start the year… looking to the needs of Lori in reverence to Christ.
I’ll let you know how it goes.
Have a great New Years day and an awesome 2016 serving the Lord.
Blessings, Keith
