Galatians 5:16 ESV But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

Walking in the flesh is as easy as taking the next breath of fresh air. We do it without even thinking about it. However, when we walk in our flesh we will ultimately do the things that fulfill the desires of the flesh. I am reminded today that when I am connected to God through his Spirit I will not gratify fleshly desires. In order to be in tune to the Spirit, I need to be in the Word and prayer daily. No, constantly… Walking in the Spirit for me is more than just a daily routine of reading my Bible, it is a moment by moment conscious thing I must do throughout the day.

Jesus came to set us free from the bondage of sin and death and the guilt and shame that comes with it. We go from being a slave to our flesh to a slave to righteousness when we have a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Lord, I want to glorify you in all I do and I know to do that I need to walk by the Spirit. Help me to do that today.
