Pro 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

This weekend we celebrate the 18th birthday of our youngest son Grayson. We are having a get together and it will be to celebrate his birthday, his early graduation from High School, and his departure to Guatemala for discipleship training and overseas missions work for up to 10 months. As I was preparing this afternoon for the big day, this verse came to mind often.

As I ponder this verse, I can’t help but think about those children that have been raised in the house of the Lord and have strayed from his teachings. Whether it be because of lack of faith, other distractions, or simply unbelief, I have hope that my kids who aren’t following “The Way” will one day return.

We are so excited and blessed to see what the Lord is doing and will do in and through his young life.

My prayer today is that the Lord will graciously restore all of our kids who have turned from Christ and bring them to a place of serving him once again.
