Psalm 73:25-26 Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. (26) My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

This has always been one of my favorite verses in times of rest. God is all I need, he alone is my portion. There are so many things on this earth that can distract me from God, and when I have reached my end searching, I always come to the same conclusion as the Psalmist… God is all I need. There is nothing on earth I desire besides the Creator of the universe that will satisfy my soul.

Lord, help me to stop searching for worldly things to satisfy my heart. Keep me close to you. I desire you above all things today and declare that you are my strength and my portion forever and ever amen.
